After four years as Chairman of The Two Moors Festival, Richard Fletcher is handing over to Andrew Welch who has been a trustee since 2018.
Andrew Welch said: “Richard’s chairmanship has been exemplary. His calm, steady hand on the tiller has seen this Festival through some rough seas including, of course, Covid. During his four years as Chairman he never lost sight of the festival’s objectives while keeping a very careful watch over its finances. At the same time, Richard led on the inspired appointment of Tamsin Waley-Cohen as our Artistic Director. The combination of Tamsin’s artistic leadership and Richard’s generalship has enabled the flourishing and exciting festival we have today which builds on the legacy of Penny and John Adie, the founders and long time deliverers of the festival.
I am delighted that he is continuing as a trustee and his wise guidance will continue to be much appreciated.”
Andrew has held the position of director and chief executive of theatres and arts centres including the Chichester Festival Theatre, the Theatre Royal Plymouth and the Hong Kong Arts Centre. He has served on arts industry boards including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts, the Michael Clark Dance Company and the theatre company, Paines Plough.

We are all expecting a challenging economic environment next year and our Festival will require - and will get from Andrew - a decisive and inspirational sense of direction and purpose.
